Chico
We are heartbroken to have to rehome Chico, but unfortunately we are not in a position to continue training him to be the best dog he can be. Chico is a 2 year old, 40 lb pit bull mix (DNA test completed, can provide results) who is a snuggly and affectionate dog with his people. He is an anxious boy and takes 40mg of Prozac daily (takes very easily with treats). Chico is reactive towards people, especially coming into the house. On walks he will also occasionally lunge at people passing by if he feels they are too close. He loves dogs, does not like cats. He has never been around kids, but we would be very hesitant to test that out. Chico is potty trained and rarely has accidents in the house. He is very flexible with his schedule, will always go along with whatever you want to do, as long as he’s with you. In addition to medication, Chico has completed a training course and worked one on one with a behavioralist for his reactivity. He is very smart and loves training and learning new skills. Chico loves going on walks and being outside. He would do well in a quieter area with a lot of nature. He LOVES chasing squirrels and bunnies, and would do well with a yard with a high fence. Once Chico knows he can trust you, he is the most loyal, affectionate, and cuddly boy. He would do best with someone looking for a loving companion, who is willing to continue training to work on reactivity. We want to find him the best home for his needs as possible so feel free to reach out with questions.
