Jeter

yes, like the baseball player
Bernedoodle
1  years  10   months old
male

I am looking to give Jeter up for adoption to a couple (preferably with no children) who will give him the time, space, patience and energy he needs to thrive. I’m also requiring the family he will be adopting into to take him to a behavior specialist. No behavior specialist visit, no adoption, no exceptions. Jeter is a pure-bred Bernedoodle and will be 2 years old in November. He’s a happy boy with loads of love to give! I am currently giving him very minimal walks (about 1-2 a day) and am looking for someone who can give him great walks through out the day. Maybe 20 minute walks (2-3x’s a day?). I’m also seeking a home with loads of space for Jeter to roam freely! He currently lives in a 1 bedroom apartment with me, with minimal space to trek throughout the day. Jeter is crate trained and does very well in and out of his crate. He’s potty trained and will not urinate/defecate in the house. Jeter is about 90lbs and may grow a bit more. He’s generally very happy and in super energetic spirits. He is friendly but is not gentle, meaning he does not know how big he is. He’s generally rushing into room to room with no regard for being gentle or mindful of his steps. He loves to play with other dogs, he’s a very social boy. He has a high social demand, and currently we have been going to dog parks to release some high energy he has stored through out the day! It’s most helpful. While it’s great that Jeter is social, it can also be taxing in that he is very impulsive. He will generally desire to pull on the leash to greet another dog if he sees another dog while on its walk. Jeter does decently on the leash but still needs consistency in training on his leash. He generally will respond to commands, but when he desires to greet another dog, he will not regard commands and will pull. He can become distracted a bit! Leash training will require more time and effort for sure, as he tends to pull! Jeter also has a bit of anxiety so he will bark at visitors. He will also bark/yelp to greet another dog if he desires to greet them! Other than leash training, Jeter is very well trained in all other areas and does well with other people! He loves people and loves attention. If you’re interested or know any candidates that would be a great fit, please reach out!
