Learn more about the adorable Pumis

1. The Pumi is a medium-small breed of sheep dog from Hungary

They are versatile stock dogs equally adept at gathering, driving and keeping stock under control.

2. They tend to be curious, cheerful, attentive and intelligent

The Pumi excels at agility and obedience training, and it’s a great way to help expend his energy levels.

3. The Pumi usually gets along well with other pets

He can get along with other dogs, or ignore them, as long as the other dog isn’t pushy. He has a passion for hunting rodents, however, and may not be best suited to homes with pocket pets, such as mice and guinea pigs.

4. They are protective of their families and will be wary of strangers

Because it is a herding dog, it may try to herd the family. You should start socialization when this dog is a puppy.

5. The Pumi needs lots of exercise to keep them happy and healthy

If you live in an urban area, you need to keep your Pumi occupied. Great activities for this dog include walking, hiking and jogging.
